We as women, (daughters, sisters, mothers, grandmothers, and wives) have a great responsibility in serving our family. Whether we are on our own in life or have a family in which to care, serving is a gift that God gives us to enable the creativity within to be outwardly expressed.
Sometimes, our stresses of the day can grasp a hold of our tongues, minds, and spirit beginning to influence our atmosphere and thus reaching through that outward expression. It is not easily spotted when we are overwhelmed with a ‘to do list’, unpaid bills, sick children, or hope lost due to dropped expectations.
However, we are still responsible for upholding the heart of our home, whether we live alone or have a family, it is our gift of serving that brings in the joy, love, peace, and hope into the hearts of those we care for most.
So, just wanting to say, that when the dishes are unwashed, the beds are unmade, the laundry is piling up; at the end of the day what really matters – is how we spent our day serving others and speaking the love we feel towards them in a tone of voice that is cultivating a God love relationship.
When we don’t feel ‘like it’ (serving or doing one more thing) remember it is easy to become overwhelmed but even easier to say,
“Lord, stir up within me the gifts that you have placed in my hands to serve those I hold close to my heart. Help me to not live out of a fear, but live and declare over my day that through You I have power, love, and a sound mind to serve and speak love.”
sound mind – good judgment, disciplined thought patterns, and the ability to understand and make right decisions. It includes the qualities of self-control and self-discipline.
