1 – You can fear 2 – You can trust
“Fear holds one bond to a thought long enough for the heart to be darken to the truth. Belief of a fear can overpower ones trust in the Lord that the sight of hope is lost. Then the origination of that fear is overshadowed, covered up by the lie.” ~ excerpt from Insightful Reflections of the Human Kind by Jennifer Goodson © 2012 All Rights Reserved.
Ever been at a place where you are at your end of a circumstance and realize you have two choices?
I have always believed it is best to trust and run towards the fear. Eventually, the fearful part of me is going to have to move out-of-the-way. However, sometimes just taking that first step towards something so big is the hardest.
Let me ask you, how long are going to stay where you are? How long is it going to be before something drastic has to happen to make you move?
Are you really that willing to just ‘settle’ for where your choices have taken you or are you going to push everything aside? What are you going to do to get past from where you are?
Love and faith, two of God’s greatest gifts to us, are the two strongest elements of truth that will vanquish any lie, cast away any fear, and set anyone willing to be free. Love is given freely to us, however, faith takes perseverance. Once you have these peace begins to settle in and trusting in God’s plan becomes easier.
How free from fear do you want to be?
John 4:18 “There is no fear in love (dread does not exist), but full-grown (complete, perfect) love turns fear out-of-doors and expels every trace of terror! For fear brings with it the thought of punishment, and (so) he who is afraid has not reached the full maturity of love ( is not yet grown into love’s complete perfection).”
When do you want to start living?
It is your choice, one only you can make, but you do not ever have to make the transition from living in fear to walking in love and faith alone. God places others in your life to make that transition happen. They are ones that are always there when you are up and down and when you are in the ‘in-between’. Trust in your God-given right standing relationships to bring you truth and healing. Sometimes, it is words from your spouse, your closest friends that open the door for listening to His voice.
I encourage you today to journal your thoughts on ~
- What you are afraid of
- What makes you quit before you begin
- What makes you not follow through
- What holds you back from embracing true love? God’s love?
These are small steps but heart shifting steps. Steps that change the mindset, open the door for revelation and inner reflection. You’ll begin to feel a little lighter – just don’t stop searching for truth.
You’ve taken the first few steps towards truth, healing, and choosing to . . .
Keep smilin’, Jenn
