Words Reflect Your Heart
Out of your mouth your heart speaks . . .
Relationships that keep us from moving forward in productivity may need reevaluation. It is one thing to support another when they are in and out of struggles. However, it is another when the person is constantly dwelling in a place of negative influence.
When we build healthy boundaries that continually moderate our lives with positive influences we have balance not only in our thinking but our hearts. As our hearts are filled with the light that life thoughts bring our outward life will be heard by the words we speak.
“Positive thinking births words of life without them we will find ourselves in pitiful crevices of negativity that will leave us shriveled up and dying to a tune no one wants to hear anymore.” ~ Jennifer Goodson © 2013
“A man’s [moral] self shall be filled with the fruit of his mouth; and with the consequence of his words he must be satisfied [whether good or evil]. Death and life are in the power of the tongue, and they who indulge in it shall eat the fruit of it [for death or life]. ~ Proverbs 18:20-21 AMP
“You have minds like a snake pit! How do you suppose what you say is worth anything when you are so foul-minded? It’s your heart, not the dictionary that gives meaning to your words. A good person produces deeds and words season after season. An evil person is blight on the orchard. Let me tell you something: Every one of these careless words is going to come back to haunt you. There will be a time of Reckoning. Words are powerful; take them seriously. Words can be your salvation. Words can also be your damnation.” ~ Matthew 12:34 THE MESSAGE
I am not saying we should let go of our relationships with those who are of a negative influence because there will come a time when your presence can speak life into their dark pit dwelling. However, I want to encourage you to reevaluate your relationships and how much influence they have over your life.
For the negative ones begin setting boundaries by setting limits of time with the person, consider speaking with them about their negative talk and how it affects your life. If a relationship is affecting your marriage in a negative way consider talking with your spouse about how the two of you can make steps in changing the influences of that relationship. If it is a co-worker begin to limit your time that you are around them and be mindful of what you are contributing to the conversation.
Words speak life and death – know what you are to speak by knowing your thoughts. In doing so, you will begin to know what resides within your heart. Make the decision today to be a life-giver.
LIVE TODAY! and . . .
Keep smilin’ ~ Jenn
