Everyone is so quick to give us a cliché of terms quoted from the Good Book. Most of us know it’s true and order our lives after God’s leading trusting in Him in all things. However, those who do not walk in that foundation of trust tend to be skeptic of God’s peace let alone walking in faith.
As women we journey through a diversity of trails in our lives within various areas that we connect . . . our relationships, our children, our health, our work, our school, etc. When circumstances come our way we can choose to either take on the chaos or breathe in God’s peace.
If you are like me it took several battles with my superwoman cape to realize all I had to do was stop and put on the brakes.
Now . . . I breathe in God’s peace.
It’s a daily stepping of trust. I wake up, run my ‘to do list’ in my head before my feet hit the floor, and I ask God to lead my day. Trusting in God is not always easy. I’m not going to lie to you. Especially, if you are like me, one who likes to take the bull by the horns and do it herself, it is the hardest thing to trust, to let go, and to refuse to ‘take over’ the circumstance.
I’ve had to train myself over the last few years to just begin with a deep breath and say, “Daddy God you got this!” I then can let go. Yes, doubt does come. Wondering if He really has me but past evidence of . . . pull me through’s . . . have proven His power and strength in my life.
So, I encourage you to embrace the fact that you cannot manage your life and all it’s orderly scheduled list of to do’s or life’s chaotic mishaps on your own. It’s just easier to learn it now and begin training your mind to shut up!
Breathe in . . . let go and trust God to pull you through each circumstance, each item on your ‘to do list’, each chaotic mess that crosses your path this week.
He’s not going to step out on you . . . He’s got you.
Philippians 4:6 -7 “Do not fret or have any anxiety about anything, but in every circumstance and in everything, by prayer and petition (definite requests), with thanksgiving, continue to make your wants known to God. And God’s peace (shall be yours, that tranquil state of soul assured of its salvation through Christ, and so fearing nothing from God and being content with its earthly lot of whatever sort that is, that peace) which transcends all understanding shall garrison and mount guard over your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus.”
Garrison – a permanent military installation – protection – healing (French) to heal, to protect
When we trust in God we are allowing Him to build a guard around our hearts that not only protects us but also brings in that healing balm to break down walls of the ‘I’m going to do it myself attitude’. Such peace floods in that will transcend all our understanding.
Watch and see how His peace transform your body, soul, and spirit!
