Who would I be ‘if’ . . .

One’s identity reveals itself in knowing who they are apart from their gifts, talents, calling, etc.  It begins with a one on one connection with the Creator, the giver of life.  It continues when one learns to accept their self just the way they are.

God’s word says He want us and takes us just the way we are – the good, the bad, the beautiful, and the ugly – the sin, the un-forgiveness, the shame – – – just the way we are.

Once we grasp that no matter what we have done, where we have been, or what we are in middle of right now . . . this moment . . . . Christ takes us just like this and loves us as we are.  When this revelation is deposited into our hearts we can understand and know we are lovable, we are of great worth, we are approved by the one who created us who breathed into our being.

This is the start of knowing who we are, loving and accepting ourselves, and knowing that even if all is stripped away that we are still valuable to Him and to others.

Ask yourself this – Who would you be if you could not create, use your gifts/talents, walk in your calling?

You would still be the person you were created to be – a person with the ability to love, with the ability to give, and with the ability to make a difference.

This is a great post. A reminder that we don’t have to beat ourselves up, just because we haven’t reached a certain goal. God loves us unconditionally, just as we are. We cling to Him, which should be our primary goal. Everything else will be added unto us. Blessings.
