As I was drifting off to sleep last night I began to hear a ticking sound . . . it was loud and clear . . . tick . . . toc . . . repeatedly getting louder. I drifted into sleep and I found myself along a shore overlooking the open vastness of sky and ocean. At this time my inner being began to shutter and heard God’s voice say, “Time is the player in molding and sculpting ones character. Time is short and there is much to do.” Through out the night I was taken from one place to the next each with the sounding of . . . time. Right before the end, I awoke to a vision of myself speaking to thousands of hungry souls crying out for purpose; for understanding – all in search of who they were called to be – their identity. The cry was painful and questioning and so loud that the ticking sound became even louder. Their voices were crying out but their hands and their expressions were preoccupied with tech gadgets, imagery of falsifiable truths . . . preoccupied with subjects of utter destruction to ones soul.
I began to become angry and then I became very saddened which then turned into a determination. I opened my mouth to speak as my spirit man began to shutter trembling violently within. These words came forth as I spoke in my vision. As I transitioned from the vision to being fully awake these words (same as in the vision) were upon my tongue . . .
“You say want to know your purpose. You want to walk in your destiny. How much time have you invested in your preparation? One cannot reap where one has not sown. Time is the player in molding and sculpting ones character. For without character your purpose will remain dormant. Don’t waste your time on frivolous passing. Invest your time in enriching your spirit. Some need to turn off the distractions that steal away, that devour, and that keep hidden God’s plans. Turn off the phone, the television, the social media, and ……Simplify….that you may reap an abundant knowledge of His mysteries and character may be your forerunner.” ~ Jennifer Goodson ’14 Brake 5
1 Corinthians 7:29, 31 “I mean, brethren, the appointed time has been winding down and it has grown very short. . . . And those who deal with this world (overusing the enjoyments of this life) as though they were not absorbed by it and as if they had no dealings with it. For the outward form of this world (the present world order) is passing away.” AMP
