Are We Sleepwalking? (Part 1)

Are We Sleepwalking?

As a dream which seems real . . . Everything that was done that day, thoughts, words said you can’t remember . . . It is almost like driving to a familiar destination and after you’ve arrived, you can’t remember the drive there.  Sometimes it may feel like we are going through the motions of life without putting much thought into what we are doing.

Why is this? When we become familiar in a way of ‘doing’ and ‘thinking’ it easily becomes a habit, a routine – something we can do with our eyes closed.
As women, we wear many hats becoming a robot in a world of demands driving us on a road towards . . . somewhere. Mindless, non-cognitive thought processes, which seemingly take us from one place to another.
Sleepwalking . . . through life . . . going through the motions.

There was a time I felt this way in my relationship with God.  I had become so familiar with knowing He was there that I didn’t put forth much effort in the discovery of Him and His plans for my life.  The good news is that there is usually a waking point.  The bad news is we have to make sure that that waking point is not a detrimental turning point.

Therefore, how do we go from sleepwalking to
becoming fully aware of our surroundings, God’s voice, and living a fully awaken life?

With all great avenues of success we must be disciplined, accountable, and passionate.  In addition, our mind plays a vital role on our path to living a victorious life.

1 Peter 5:8
“Be well balanced (temperate, sober of mind), be vigilant and cautious at all times; for that enemy of yours, the devil, roams around like a lion roaring (in fierce hunger),
seeking someone to seize upon and devour.”
