In order to walk in awareness and live a fully awaken life we must line up our thinking with God and His word. It is one thing to read the black and white pages; it is another to live, to believe, and to walk in authority. Isaiah 26:3 says, “You will guard him and keep in perfect and constant peace whose mind (both its inclination and its character) is stayed on You, because he commits himself to You, leans on You, and hopes confidently in You.” The promise spoken here is that God will keep us in perfect peace, constant peace as long as we set our minds on Him not allowing fear or the familiarity of life’s treadmill to keep us out of touch with trusting God.
When we are going through the motions; those things that have become our routine of thinking, speaking and acting; they create a mindset that places us into slumber mode. This opens the door for us to be unaware of the plans of the enemy for our relationships, our finances, and even our health. As the door opens, our minds will begin to be a wandering battlefield. We begin to question all that we do walking around in confusion and doubt. At times, we may entertain things that could have been and the ‘if only’. Anxiety begins to reign in our minds coupling itself with low self-esteem, low self-worth, and comparison. Fear is the passenger and we have buckled him in though unaware.
Our discernment, our value, our worth, and even our image are attacked at this moment. The enemy has lullabied our spirit man to sleep. We are no longer awake to the life and love of God in its in entirety. We are walking around numb, a dull sword, our arrow tip is broken; our bow is tethered and torn. Leaving our spiritual weapons frozen in time – our spiritual focus is clouded and we are no longer able to see the mark ahead of us.
