Obedience Brings Joy

As our Sunday evening comes to a close I want to leave each of you with some encouraging words for your week ahead.

Last Friday, I had the opportunity arise to be obedient in a divine appointment. God’s timing was perfect but His set up for this DA to take place began on Wednesday. He led me in a path of discerning a situation for a person I had only saw at a glance and have never seen before.

What He allowed me to discern and feel was nothing short of knowing that it was going to take HIM and only HIM to bring healing to this young lady.

I asked, “What would you have me to do?” His response, “For now, just pray…pray without ceasing.”

For two days that is what I did. Friday, in a common place I saw this same young woman walk into where I was again . . . Needless to say, I knew it was the Father’s set up. BUT I still had to battle that, “What if she rejects you.” All the Father said to me was, “Are you BRAVE enough? Go and trust me.”

Now, listen girls, this type of DA has happened before but not in such clarity and such urgency before. My spirit man at that moment was in overdrive and I knew I had to be obedient. There was not a choice BECAUSE it was not about me it was about HIM.

I followed her out, as she was walking to her car (yes, talk about getting out of your comfort zone) 🙂  Told her my name and told her I had seen her two days before and felt led to pray for her these past two days. Tears streamed down her face and she asked for a hug …. she wept…The Father prophetically began to download and I spoke exactly what He said without involving my ‘why’ thoughts.

Let’s just say… the Father knows when His daughters are in need of His love, reassurance, and strength. Obedience and prayer – led me to be His hands and feet during those three days stopping this young lady from committing suicide and letting her know that Jesus loves her in her very moment of pain. It was a great morning and her life was changed. It was a JOYFUL moment!

I say all this to not boast but to encourage you ….. You never know what God is going to ask you to do or why He asks you to do certain things. Just do it! It’s not about us but about Him and who He is calling into His Kingdom.

John 15:9-11 “As the Father has loved me, so have I loved you. Now remain in my love. If you obey my commands, you will remain in my love, just as I have obeyed my Father’s commands and remain in his love. I have told you this so that my JOY may be in you and that your joy may be complete.”

Father, I pray for your daughters that as our week unfolds tomorrow morning that we follow Your word and commands so that we may remain in Your love. We want to serve you out of an obedient, not a rebellious, heart. We chose to submit to you. Obedience leads us into many blessings; one of JOY and LOVE. Empower us, encourage us, and give us the will to want to make right decisions, decisions that lead to a better life and greater joy. Amen!

I encourage you this week to be BRAVE, to be UNSTOPPABLE, to NOT COMPROMISE …. to be filled with His love and joy!

Thank you for this post. We need to be reminded that God often has a divine appointment for each of us. Upon waking each morning we need to ask God to open our eyes to the appointments and then for the courage to follow through and be the women of God he has chosen us to be.
