Holy Spirit Living . . .

lightstock-social-graphic-billy-graham_01You know, if anyone would have told me years ago what I would have to go through to be where I am today I would have probably slapped them. “Nope. Not me, not going to happen. I’m going to do things this way. I’m going to live this way. I’ll make sure my children do this or do that.”

Yep, that about sums it up. Well, we all know that usually is NEVER the TRUE STORY . . .

What about you. Have you ever wondered if you or if someone else in your life would have made a different choice, a better choice, not the ‘sin’ choice, that life would be seamless – different – stress free?

I am sure all of us are nodding our heads right now and thinking of more than one thing that could have saved us from saying, “OUCH!”

So many choices in life, including our own, involve those around us. Not everyone thinks forward . . . how their choice at any given moment will affect the lives of others. One person’s choice can bring consequences for those who are innocent. It is heartbreaking and at times earth shattering.

BUT THE GOOD NEWS is God, our Heavenly Father has a purpose for ALL things.
My favorite verse, Romans 8:28 says,
“We are assured and know that (God being a partner in their labor) all things work together and are (fitting into a plan) for good to and for those who love God and are called according to (His) design and purpose.”

Knowing this is valuable when we walk through trials and tribulations that seem quite unfair. For if we know that God can take one mistake, no matter the size of that mistake, and use if for His glory. Than at that moment we are challenged to do the same.

His Word clearly states that we are ALL called and have a design and a purpose. Being this is true then He has promised that He will work out all according to His perfect plan…Not our plan but His plan.

Yes, the verse says, “fitting into a plan.” What does that mean, Jenn?

We are given a choice as God has created us as beings of free will. He knows what lies ahead of each choice that is made. Whatever choice, He has foreseen the outcome. Even though at times we may feel that this choice by our own doing or another’s has DERAILED the plans of God – we must remember God partners with us in our labor called LIFE and fits everything into His plan for Him to receive ALL THE GLORY at the end.

Now, listen I do want to say, being in the midst of a trial is NEVER EASY. To say so, I would be lying. NEVERTHELESS, it is a lot EASIER with God on our side. There are times we wonder if His presence is even there while decisions are to be made in order to just survive. I have to always remind myself of the memorial stones that I have placed before the current trial. I am reminded of my Father’s faithfulness to see me and my family through. I am reminded of the many miracles He has done in our lives. Most importantly, I am reminded of His love for me and His grace that is sufficient for me everyday. I then know that a memorial stone will soon be placed for this current storm. His presence rushes in and His peace consumes me as I begin to trust in Him, not in my own understanding, as I begin to praise Him for His ways are perfect and unfailing.

Life happens and is unfair but 2 Thessalonians 1:7 says, “God will give relief to you who are troubled.” God encourages us in His Word to stand strong and be courageous no matter what we may endure here on earth. He will be with us at every moment we need Him. By keeping open communication with Him through prayer and worship, surrounding your environment with His presence, He will be your strength through it all.

I encourage you to pray without ceasing, to flood your environment with worship, and even when you do not ‘feel like it’ PRAISE Him. He is the only one who can get you through the storm, drive it away, and bring a solution.

Father, please protect us and give us wisdom through Your Holy Spirit. Help us to be just and fair in everything we do so that we are good representatives for You. Help us to see each situation, each trial in Your perspective and not our own. Give us the strength to remain steadfast (unflinching endurance and patience). Keep us firm in our faith in the midst of all the persecutions and distresses of this present day. We know You are holding us up and for this we can stand. In Jesus, Might Name, Amen.

Praying for all of you!
Keep smilin’, Jenn
